EM gravity research

Independent research into whether organized electromagnetic energy affects gravity differently, with published papers and bench experiments.

The question I'm working on: does gravity respond differently to organized, coherent electromagnetic energy than to ordinary heat energy?

My paper proposes one extra term in Einstein's equations that would make that true, with a screening effect that switches it off in ordinary matter, so it doesn't break any of the tests gravity has already passed. From that, it makes predictions for charged capacitors, neutron stars and superconductors. The model is phenomenological, meaning it describes a possible effect rather than deriving it from deeper theory, and v4.0 is an honest audit of the earlier versions.

On the bench, I've built a high-voltage test device and written two test protocols, including one designed to set an upper limit on the effect rather than look for a detection. Early readings may be measurement interference, so I'm treating everything as unconfirmed until the protocols say otherwise. I've also built in-browser electrostatics simulators to explore the physics.

Build log

  1. Bench protocols written

Wrote the test protocols for the bench device, with the criteria for a null result set before the first run.

  2. Paper v4.0 published

Published v4.0 of the paper on Zenodo: a self-audit and revision of the earlier versions.

  3. Provisional patent filed

Filed a US provisional patent application.
